The challenge
◆ As part of a value improvement programme, Ipsen Wrexham, decided to review the cost effectiveness, efficiency and viability of outsourcing some or all, if feasible, of its existing in-house facility management services.
◆ The successful external provider had to be fully conversant with GMP and be able to work consistently to these procedures
◆ Ipsen wanted to increase quality control and monitoring of site contractors
◆ A reduction in the number of suppliers on their supplier management database was desired
◆ Ipsen wanted continuity of visiting personnel for onsite security and experience
◆ Ipsen required a company that could demonstrate the ability to provide additional services in line with their planned growth.
IN ESSENCE, THE CLIENT REQUIRED A COMPANY WHO COULD SEAMLESSLY INTEGRATE A FULL FACILITIES AND OFFICE SERVICE FUNCTION, DELIVERED WITH A PERSONAL TOUCH.
The EIS Solution
◆ EIS delivered a dedicated and experienced facility and offices management team with a range of expertise to meet Ipsen’s specific needs. This allowed Ipsen staff to concentrate on their core business. Urgent service requests were simply sent to EIS, with no need to chase suppliers and contractors and the fast response time for many maintenance issues enabled Ipsen to deliver substantial cost savings through use of the EIS FM processes.
◆ EIS introduced their approved strategic partners and sub-contractors to the site to carry out specialized infrastructure services. This reduced the management load for Ipsen and saved time and money in processing orders. EIS act as an integrated FM service provider from concept to completion of each project.
◆ The formation of the dedicated on site facility team gave EIS the ability to undertake multiple work tasks avoiding the need to pay an external resource. This team was trained to control on site contractors, including adherence to EIS tight guidelines and GMP legislation, delivering a cost reduction for the client.
◆ EIS had the ability to schedule work effectively to minimize resources and allocate equipment over multiple jobs.
◆ EIS met the client’s requirement to deliver additional services – since the start of the contract EIS have delivered project management, office refurbishments, churn management, a purchasing function, IT and data installations, fire, security, audio visual services plus maintenance solutions.
THE SUCCESS OF THE ABOVE SOLUTION HAS RESULTED IN THE EXPANSION OF SERVICES TO THE OTHER IPSEN UK SITES.
"As a biotechnology company we operate in a highly regulated, competitive and quality-orientated enviroment that demands efficient and timely support. EIS provide us with this."
